Contemporary Kokeshi dolls are rounder in shape with a variety of different facial expressions, unlike the Traditional Kokeshi dolls. In Japan these dolls are called Creative Dolls and are made in all areas of Japan. The Dolls symbolise love, friendship and believed to be a lucky charm.
